Check their Glassdoor and LinkedIn pages for employee reviews and company culture insights. This knowledge helps you answer the inevitable "Why do you want to work here?" question with genuine enthusiasm and specific references. Interviewers can instantly tell the difference between a candidate who has done their homework and one who hasn't, and this preparation alone can set you apart from the majority of applicants.

Prepare answers for common interview questions using the STAR method — Situation, Task, Action, Result. Common questions for freshers include "Tell me about yourself," "What are your strengths and weaknesses," "Where do you see yourself in five years," and "Describe a challenging situation and how you handled it." Don't underestimate the power of asking thoughtful questions at the end. When the interviewer asks "Do you have any questions for us?" this is your chance to demonstrate curiosity and engagement. Ask about the team structure, the onboarding process for freshers, opportunities for learning and growth, or the technologies the team works with. Avoid asking about salary or leave policies in the first interview unless the interviewer brings it up. Thoughtful questions show that you are already thinking about how you can contribute and grow within the organisation.

After the interview, send a thank-you email within 24 hours. Express gratitude for the opportunity, reference a specific topic discussed during the interview to show attentiveness, and reiterate your enthusiasm for the role.
